On June 25, the 21st Congress of the National Assembly African New Age Forum was held at the National Assembly Committee Hall.
The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taeho Lee, attended the forum and Professor Jinsang Lee of SUNY Korea, gave a speech entitled, 'Africa Fact-Check.'
Professor Lee experienced life in Africa while teaching at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia for two years in 1994. In order to help members of congress to better understand Africa, Professor Lee lectured on resource development, economic growth, and the potential for Korean companies to advance into African markets.
Seolhoon, a congressman who prepared the forum, said, “The National Assembly's African New Age Forum has played a significant role in diplomacy between South Korea and Africa. I hope this forum will broaden the bases of African diplomacy and contribute to win-win cooperation between Korea and Africa for the reorganized National Assembly. Since COVID-19 is spreading in Africa, we want to contribute to the safety and health of people within the African continent.”
