SUNY Korea had the Spring 2020 Commencement online on June 19th.
The commencement, which was held online to prevent the spread of COVID 19, was live-streamed on YouTube with two representative students, some faculty members, and Won Jae Lee, Commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority. SUNY Korea awarded a total of 105 students, including 98 undergraduates and 7 graduate students, with degrees from Stony Brook University and FIT.
Won Jae Lee, Commissioner of the IFEZ Authority, said, “SUNY Korea of Incheon Global Campus is the perfect place for the development of innovation in Korea” and “I am sure that students who have strengthened their capabilities as global leaders by living on campus where diverse nationalities and cultures coexist will become leaders of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
Wonki Min, president of SUNY Korea, said, “Plans can be changed due to an unexpected situation like COVID 19, but the purpose of students’ lives should not be changed” and “If students keep faith and maintain a life led by purpose, they can ultimately achieve what they want. Rather than being frustrated by external factors, I want students to take advantage of the crisis as an opportunity to sail further and live a life of success.”
