SUNY Korea has become 'two families under one roof' as FIT opened last fall, joining Stony Brook University which was established in 2012.
As an unprecedented education model in Korea, SUNY Korea offers two schools out of 64 universities that belong to the SUNY system, the largest public institution of higher education in the United States.
Founded in 2012, SUNY Korea is the first American university in Korea to hold both undergraduate and graduate studies established by the Korean government.
SUNY Korea currently has about 800 students from 35 countries, even though it began with 23 students in the first semester.
SUNY Korea offers seven undergraduate programs: 5 from Stony Brook (Technological Systems Management, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Business Management) and two from FIT (Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management). Students who graduate will receive degrees and diplomas from each respective home campus, Stony Brook and FIT.
