FITSUNY Korea leads the future of higher education
2019 Winter Camp from Sejong Academy of Science and ArtsSUNY Koreaㅣ2020-02-05 09:12
SUNY Korea hosted the 2019 Winter camp at the Sejong Academy of Science and Arts from January 6, 2020 to January 10, 2020. The camp, which hosted 1st-year high school students from the Sejong Academy of Science and Arts, offered five subjects: physics, math, computer science, and biology.
Professor Kao Tan (AMS), who was in charge of mathematics, admired the abilities of students at the Sejong Academy of Science and Arts. The class materials that he prepared were used in two days and he had to make new materials every night. During the camp, Professor Kao Tan gave the students some advice. He said that while it is important to solve a math problem, it is also important to develop one’s own ability to find new problems.
Professors in other subjects also said they were surprised by the sharpness of the students. During the class, the professors could think of new ways to approach a problem through considering students' questions.
Hopefully, this camp has given Korea's top talent an opportunity to experience SUNY Korea.
