Info: Re-Entry Permit & Quarantine (As of April 1, 2022)

Dear Students, 

 

This is to inform you regarding the Re-Entry Permit and Quarantine (as of April 1, 2022). Please read this email carefully as it is related to your residency in Korea.

 

[Re-Entry Permit]
According to the Korean Immigration Office, D-1 ~ F-3 Visa holders (including D-2 Visa holders) are allowed Re-entry into Korea within 1 year from the date of departure without a Re-Entry Permit. 
Therefore, you do not need to apply for a Re-Entry Permit when you leave the country. 
*Re-Entry Permit will be exempted within the period of stay for people whose period of stay is less than 1 year. If you re-enter Korea after the expiration date of your RC (Residence Card), you have to reapply for the Visa. 

 

[Quarantine Guidelines] 

*Please make sure to double-check since it may change in the future.

**Excluding those arriving from Vietnam, Ukraine, and Myanmar. Countries that are excluded from quarantine exemption for the fully vaccinated will be updated every month.

1. Before Arrival: Negative PCR test result within 48 hours of the departure date

2. Upon Arrival: Take a PCR test within 24 hours and quarantine until the result comes out

3-1. Completed Vaccination:

a. IF NEGATIVE: No additional quarantine is required

    *REQUIRED to take a RAT(Rapid Antigen Test) on the 6th or 7th day of the arrival date

b. IF POSITIVE: Continue quarantine for 7 days

3-2. No Vaccination Record: 

a. NEGATIVE/POSITIVE: 7 days quarantine and required to take RAT on 7th day

 

The followings are considered a completed vaccination:
- 2nd dose: 14 days after the dose ~ 180 days
- 3rd dose: After the dose

IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting from February 2022, SUNY Korea does not provide quarantine support. This means that you will have to arrange and pay for all expenses related to quarantine when you return to Korea.

 

[New Pre-Entry System: Q-Code] 
According to the KCDC, fully vaccinated individuals can pre-register their vaccination records through the Q-Code (Quarantine Information Pre-Entry System) to simplify the arrival process at the Incheon, Gimhae, or Daegu International Airport starting from today, April 1, 2022 (KST). Please visit the Q-Code website to issue the QR code before your departure.
