Appointment of Provost/ Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Writer Administrator Date Created 2018.09.10 Hits555

SUNY is the largest comprehensive public university system in the United States. It was established in 1948 and

consists of 64 universities located within the State of New York.

SUNY Korea was established in March 2012 as the first American university founded in Korea’s only smart city,

Songdo. The setting is exceptional for a university that aspires to be a hub for global education, research and

innovation. The SUNY Korea campus is located within a 3.5 hours flying time to cities and regions that include

1/3 of the world’s population; its surroundings are designed to allow higher education institutions, government

agencies, global corporations and international organisations to create enhanced synergy.

SUNY Korea is now seeking to appoint a new Provost and Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs. This is an

excellent opportunity to advance the university’s profile and standing by growing our portfolio of inspiring

academic programs in research and education. Candidates will have an established record of fine scholarship, a

demonstrated capacity for successful academic administration working collaboratively with various campus

constituencies; a strong sense of academic entrepreneurship, innovation and vision; experience in facilitating

quality teaching; and an unwavering sense of ethics and commitment to the importance of consultation and

integrity in the handling of all academic matters. Understanding of Korean and American cultures is desirable.
