The student club Technology, AI & Law Society at SUNY Korea hosted a seminar titled “AI in the Workplace: Responsible and Effective Use of AI” on May 13, 2026. The event featured Professor Joseph S. Cabuay, who delivered a presentation focused on how artificial intelligence is being used in real workplace settings and how students can prepare for an AI-driven future.

During the seminar, Professor Cabuay discussed practical AI tools and real applications that are currently being used across different industries. He also explained how students, including those without an engineering background, can use AI effectively for both academic and professional purposes. A major focus of the seminar was responsible AI use, emphasizing that AI should support human work rather than replace critical thinking. Professor Cabuay highlighted the importance of reviewing AI outputs carefully and making independent decisions instead of becoming overly dependent on technology.

The seminar attracted students from various majors who are interested in AI ethics, governance, and career development. Free dinner was provided, and attendees gained useful insights on how to stay competitive in the workplace while using AI with skill, responsibility, and integrity.
