The campus was buzzing with energy, excitement, and new beginnings as the Fall 2026 New Student Welcome Week started. SUNY Korea welcomed 231 new students to campus for Fall 2026 New Student Welcome Week, a multi-day program designed to help incoming students prepare for university life, connect with the SUNY Korea community, and begin their academic journey.
The journey began with Placement Exam Day, where students completed required placement examinations in writing and mathematics.
During Activities Day, new students participated in ice-breaking activities, campus tours, special workshops, and activities with Resident Assistants (RAs). The program provided students with opportunities to meet their peers, explore the campus, and begin building connections within the SUNY Korea community.
University Day introduced students to key aspects of academic and campus life. Sessions included introductions to university academic policies and procedures, academic integrity, departmental gatherings, and workshops designed to help students prepare for their transition to university.
The program continued with Course Registration Day, during which students received guidance and completed their course registration for the Fall 2026 semester. Students also had the opportunioty to meet their department chairs and faculty.
The week concluded with Convocation Day, marking the official welcome of the new students to the SUNY Korea community.
The New Student Welcome Week equips the new students with a foundation for a successful transition into university life while creating opportunities to connect with classmates, faculty, staff, and the broader campus community.
