SUNY Korea was established in March 2012 as the first American university system in Incheon, South Korea. In 2012, Stony Brook University (SBU), which is a prestigious university that represents the SUNY system, began to offer programs in South Korea as part of the Ministry of Education’s decision to serve the transnational needs for quality and global education. In 2017, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a world-leading fashion school, joined the cause to offer its renowned programs at SUNY Korea.

Currently, SUNY Korea offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Technological Systems Management, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Business Management, and Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University (SBU) and associate programs in Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management from Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Students of SUNY Korea can expect to experience authentic American higher education, and they can choose to take courses in both South Korea and the U.S.

SUNY Korea is seeking talented new staff members to join the SBU Academic Team. 

[OPEN POSITION]

SUNY Korea SBU Academic Team is searching for proactive professionals who are passionate about managing student data as they progress through their academic journey, from new student orientation to graduation. In this position, an employee performs a wide variety of duties related to SBU’s Academic general operations, academic advising, Registrar, University Scholarship, Military Manpower Administration, and other academic-related tasks.

This is a one-year contract

  • Responsibilities

    • Providing administrative support for the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics
    • Providing general academic advising to the SBU students
    • Providing administrative assistance to Applied Mathematics and Statistics graduate program
    • Managing all tasks related to the SBU Registrar including Student Data management, Enrollment, Academic Calendar Planning, Course Scheduling, Classroom Assignment, Course Evaluation, Military Manpower Administration for Korean students, and Document Issuing for various verifications
    • Managing the University Scholarship
    • Providing administrative support for the SBU Academic Affairs including Transfer Credit Evaluation, and Placement Exams
    • Providing administrative assistance for the Academic Team
       
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Fluent Communication and Documentation skills in English and Korean
    • Knowledge of acceptable advising techniques for a diverse student body
    • Understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
