SUNY Korea

SUNY Korea was established in March 2012 as the first American university system in Incheon, South Korea. In 2012, Stony Brook University (SBU), which is a prestigious university that represents the SUNY system, began to offer programs in South Korea as part of the Ministry of Education’s decision to serve the transnational needs for quality and global education. In 2017, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a world-leading fashion school, joined the cause to offer its renowned programs at SUNY Korea.

Currently, SUNY Korea offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Technological Systems Management, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Business Management, and Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University (SBU) and associate programs in Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management from Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Students of SUNY Korea can expect to experience authentic American higher education, and they can choose to take courses in both South Korea and the U.S.

SUNY Korea is seeking a talented new staff member to join the Finance Team.

This is a one-year contract
that can be renewed with satisfactory performance.
The possibility of converting or extending the contract will be determined based on job performance and competency.

[RESPONSIBILITIES]

  • A/R
    • Calculate, prepare, and issue a variety of financial documents including tuition billing statements, tuition receipts, course fee statements, and other account statements
    • Monitor student accounts for validity of records, fees, payments, and other charges, and process refunds
    • Reconcile various accounts by identifying and examining errors in postings and transactions omissions
    • Complete financial forms including journal entries and balance sheets, and update data in spreadsheets
  • A/P
    • Collect and review payment request forms for proper documentation and approval prior to payments
    • Process wire transfer requests with payment request forms with all supporting documents
    • Respond to staff questions regarding payments in a timely manner
  • Other General Accounting Tasks
    • Investigate and resolve a variety of issues related to the status of accounts and processing of payments
    • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting and with external auditors as needed

[QUALIFICATIONS]

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related fields
  • Entry level or 1 to 3 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Fluent communication and documentation skills in both English and Korean
