[FIT] Fall 2025 Leave of Absence/University Withdrawal/Readmission

Submission Deadlines (Fall 2025):

[Leave of Absence] Fall 2025 : Until November, 27, 2025

[University Withdrawal] Fall 2025 : Until November, 27, 2025

[Readmission] Fall 2025: Until August 12, 2025

 

Leave of Absence / University Withdrawal / Readmission Process

Procedure

  1. Arrange an Academic Advising Session:
    Before submitting your form, you must complete an academic advising session with your department coordinator. Please consult with your coordinator for the necessary documents and process guidance.

 

  1. Submit the Form:
    After the advising session, submit the Leave of Absence / University Withdrawal / Readmission Form via the provided Google Form link. [HERE]

 

  1. Processing Time:
    • Leave/Withdrawal Process: 2-3 business days.
    • Readmission Process: Please note that the readmission process takes 1–2 weeks and sometimes up to a month. Once there are updates on your readmission status or if any revisions are required, we will notify you.

 

Important Reminder

Incomplete forms may result in rejection or delays. Please ensure all information is accurate and complete. Follow the instructions carefully and refer to the provided links to download the official form.


 

Important Notes

  1. Advising Session Requirement:
    Before requesting a (LoA)/University Withdrawal/Readmission, students must complete an academic advising session with their department coordinator. For LoA extensions beyond four semesters, approval for a Leave Extension Petition Form from the department is required.

 

  1. Curriculum Requirements:
    Students must meet current degree requirements upon returning from a Leave of Absence, regardless of the leave type. Please refer to the FIT Catalogs for the most up-to-date requirements.

 

  1. Tuition Liability and Refunds:
    Students must check the tuition liability in the Academic Calendar and follow the necessary procedures to process tuition refunds and contact the Bursar’s Office at bursar@sunykorea.ac.kr if necessary. If you live on campus, you must visit the IGC Housing Office to complete the check-out process and request a refund

 

  1. MyFIT Email Activation:
    MyFIT & FIT Email Account Status:
  • LoA/University Withdrawal: After approval of your Leave of Absence/University Withdrawal, your MyFIT and FIT email accounts will be deactivated.
  • Readmission: Once your Readmission process is complete, please contact techhelp@fitnyc.edu to reactivate your MyFIT and FIT email accounts.

 

  1. Form Accuracy:
    Please ensure that all forms are filled out accurately and completely. Incomplete forms may result in rejection or delays. Double-check all required fields and attached documents before submission.
