Volunteer Opportunity – Special K-Heritage Transit Tour

Dear Students,
We hope your summer is going well and that you’re staying healthy and safe.
We are excited to share a meaningful volunteer opportunity in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation. Hosted by the Incheon Patriots and Veterans Office, the “K-Heritage Transit Tour” will introduce Korea’s independence history and modern cultural achievements to foreign transit passengers at Incheon International Airport.
As we are seeking only 1 to 2 students to represent SUNY Korea for this cultural diplomacy program, please contact SUNY Korea CDC if you are interested. (Selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.) Kindly refer to the details below and feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Program Details
- Event: Special Transit Tour – 80th Anniversary of Liberation
- Dates: August 6 (Wed) and August 13 (Wed), 2025, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
- Host: Incheon Patriots and Veterans Office
- Partners: Incheon International Airport Corporation, Seodaemun Prison History Hall, etc. - Volunteer Role: Assist with guided cultural tours for foreign transit passengers - Eligibility: IGC students proficient in both Korean and English
- Benefits: Official certificate of volunteer service
Main Sites Visited
- Seodaemun Prison History Hall: Learn about Korea’s independence activists
- Traditional Korean Lunch (“Memory Table”): Experience historically meaningful cuisine
- HiKR Ground: Explore modern K-culture through interactive exhibits
