[Invitation] Overseas Employment Mentoring Sessions (September 13 & 20)

Date Created 2025.08.21 Hits15

Dear Students,

We warmly welcome you back to campus after your summer break and wish you a successful start to the 2025/26 academic year. To support you in your career journey this year, we are pleased to invite you to Overseas Employment Mentoring Sessions, a two-part virtual event co-hosted by SUNY Korea CDC and KOTRA Dallas Trade Office. These sessions are designed for students and job seekers exploring career opportunities in the United States, with a focus on employment pathways, visa systems, and practical career strategies.

* Please note: As the sessions will be led by KOTRA (a Korean government-affiliated organization), the main language will be Korean, and much of the content will be most relevant to Korean nationals. Non-Korean students are warmly welcome to attend and may still find value in learning about the U.S. job market and employment systems. For additional career resources in English, CDC is happy to provide tailored support upon request.

Session Schedule

Session 1: OPT System and Employment/Immigration Visa Information
Understand the OPT (Optional Practical Training) system, common employment pathways, and key visa considerations for graduates

Session 2: U.S. Employment Trends and Resume Strategies
Learn about current U.S. job market trends and how to create a competitive American-style resume
(We are also preparing to invite successful job seekers to share their personal experiences during this session.)

How to Join
Please complete the application form HERE and indicate which session(s) you would like to attend (you may join both). The Zoom link will be sent to the email address you provide. Registration deadline: Sunday, September 7
