[Call for Applications] 2026 Public Diplomacy Field Internship Program at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (April 20)

We are pleased to introduce the Public Diplomacy Field Internship Program, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)of the Republic of Korea. This program offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience at overseas diplomatic missions while developing global competencies in an international working environment.
Selected participants will be dispatched to overseas Korean missions for six months (approximately June/July to December 2026), where they will support various public diplomacy initiatives, including cultural, knowledge, policy, and digital public diplomacy.

Eligibility Requirements
Korean nationals interested in public diplomacy and international affairs
Between the ages of 19 and 34 as of May 15, 2026
Be eligible to obtain a visa for their preferred region and have no restrictions on overseas travel
Meet the health and vaccination requirements of the host country
* Please note that applicants who have previously participated in this internship program are not eligible to apply.
Main Responsibilities
Selected participants will support public diplomacy activities at overseas Korean missions in the following areas:
Cultural Public Diplomacy
Knowledge Public Diplomacy
Policy Public Diplomacy
Digital Public Diplomacy
Support Provided
The program provides financial support:
Round-trip airfare
Monthly living allowance
Monthly medical support
Special area allowance for designated regions, if applicable
Traveler’s insurance reimbursement (up to KRW 450,000)
Full visa issuance fee support
Full vaccination cost support

Selection Process
1. Document Screening
Job competency and aptitude
Personal statement
Information use and processing skills (Computer proficiency certificates / Word processing, presentation, or spreadsheet-related certificates / Other IT-related certificates)
Language test scores
(Additional points) for employment support beneficiaries, equal opportunity applicants, and social diversity applicants
* Up to two certificates in ‘information use and processing skills’ may be submitted for each category.
** Approximately three times the number of final positions will be selected for the interview stage.
2. Interview Screening
Applicants who pass the document screening will be evaluated on the abilities and qualifications required to successfully carry out the internship.

Important Notes
Applicants are strongly advised to confirm their academic, work, and personal schedules in advance before applying, as withdrawal after final acceptance may affect the dispatch process.
Heavy traffic on the final day of application may cause delays, so early submission is strongly recommended.
