Adjunct Faculty Position
Faculty of Sciences and Humanities (FSH) at SUNY Korea
The State University of New York (SUNY) Korea was established in March 2012 as the first American university system in Incheon, South Korea. Currently, SUNY Korea currently offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Technology and Society, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Business Management, and Electrical and Computer Engineering through Stony Brook University (SBU), as well as associate programs in Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management through Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Job Description The Faculty of Sciences and Humanities (FSH) at SUNY Korea invites applications for an adjunct faculty position with a specialty in Sociology of Gender and/or Women’s Studies, starting in Spring 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following undergraduate course.
SOC/WST 247: Sociology of Gender (3 credits)
The historical and contemporary roles of women and men in American society; changing relations between the sexes; women’s liberation and related movements. Themes are situated within the context of historical developments in the U.S.
Requirements/Qualifications - Ph.D. in Sociology, Women’s and Gender Studies, or a closely related discipline, preferably from a US institution
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching gender studies and/or the sociology of gender at the college level
- Excellent command of English (all instruction is in English)
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Prior teaching experience at an English-speaking institution is preferred
