All students are required to attend all classes and arrive on time.
Attendance directly affects final grades.
Students are responsible for all missed materials, assignments, and announcements regardless of absence.
Assignments must be submitted on time even in case of absence.
Instructors may issue midterm warnings for excessive absences or poor academic performance.
At the end of semester, the course instructor will submit the class attendance record to the Academic and Faculty Affairs.
Absence Classification Unexcused Absences
Counted toward grade reduction and failure thresholds as defined by department rules.
Excused Absences
Absences may be classified as “excused” at the instructor’s discretion.
Acceptable cases include:
Serious illness or medical emergency
Official university events (e.g., conferences, institutional activities)
Family emergency (e.g., bereavement)
Religious observance (with prior notice when possible)
Medical Documentation Requirements
Acceptance of medical documentation is at the instructor’s discretion.
Doctor’s note may be required for an absence to be considered excused.
Documentation must clearly indicate the recommended rest period.
A simple hospital visit note is not sufficient.
The doctor’s note must be submitted to both the instructor and Academic
and Faculty Affairs.
Lateness Guidelines
Late arrivals, early departure, and extended break may be considered absences.
What constitutes a late arrival, early departure, or extended break will be determined by the instructor, but will typically be of a 10-minute difference.
