This page provides video tutorials for SOLAR & NetID setup or password reset.
Both SOLAR and NetID are essential for managing your course plan and course registration, so it is important to keep your accounts active and accessible at all times.
Please refer to the following video tutorials as needed:
*For the Spring 2026 new students who have not yet received their SOLAR account information from SBU, please rest assured that it will be sent to you within the next few days. Once you receive the information, please follow the instructions accordingly.
Challenge Question Setup *Must complete this section to reset your NetID password.
*After setting up the challenge questions, it may take 24 hours for the changes to be reflected in your NetID.Please proceed to Step 2 after 24 hours have passed.
All accounts will be used throughout your college years, so please make sure not to forget your passwords.
Students can submit a ticket to the SBU IT Service Center for any technical issues related to their SOLAR account, NetID, or Duo Security. The ticket submission page is available [HERE]. Please note that the response from the SBU IT Service Center may take 2-3 business days.
